Michi-no-Eki Shiriuchi しりうち

Only about 1 km from the entrance to the Seikan Tunnel, this small mountain stop on Route 228 serves a town with some 800 years of history. Japan's oldest Paleolithic tomb, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property, was found on the site, and the product hall also sells goods linked to enka singer Saburo Kitajima, a Shiriuchi native. Parking is limited to 49 cars and 2 large vehicles.
