Michi-no-Eki Kaminokuni Monju 上ノ国もんじゅ

Black silica, found in Japan only in Kaminokuni, is the unusual souvenir at this Route 228 station, alongside local farm produce and seafood products in the sales corner opened in 2009. The restaurant looks out over the Sea of Japan, and parking is generous for a southern coastal stop: 163 cars, plus space for buses and motorcycles.
